Pantera tribute reunion tackles a controversial topic in the metal world, especially among the band's fans – some love the idea, while others hate it. However, support for the initiative seems unwavering among the musicians, including Lars Ulrich .
Metallica 's new tour , which will feature Pantera as one of the special guests, opening for some of the shows on the 72 Seasons between 2023 and 2024.
In an interview with Revolver Magazine (via Loudwire ), Ulrich explained why he supports this tribute. “I think the idea that they’re celebrating the music and magic of Pantera is… I know there’s a lot of debate in the community about supporting them or not. But I’m the kind of person who (…) is always in favor of people following their musical and creative ambitions, so this Pantera reunion, I think it’s good. And of course, having Charlie Benante there is great,” he said.
The Pantera tribute reunion features the two remaining original musicians from the band, Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown , following the deaths of Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul , who have been replaced by Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante , respectively.
