On Friday night, the 28th, Pantera kicked off their tour with Lamb of God .
The first show took place in Pennsylvania, and the band surprised fans by playing two songs that hadn't been performed live since 2001: "Slaughtered" and "Revolution Is My Name".
The two songs were played at the end of the night, after the encore and a chorus of "Happy Birthday" for bassist Rex Brown , who turned 59 the day before.
The current Pantera lineup consists of Rex Brown, Phil Anselmo , Zakk Wylde , and Charlie Benante . The band embarked on a reunion and tribute tour to brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul in 2022, including a stop in Brazil in December as part of the Knotfest Brasil .
