–This was the first Pantera album I ever heard, and it completely changed me. Until then, I was just a beginner rock fan and knew little about heavier bands. Knowing Jimmy Page and Blackmore, I thought nothing more extraordinary could be done with a guitar, until I discovered Dimebag and his unique, captivating, overwhelming style, making the guitar roar like an untamed beast. With this album, an instant passion for Pantera and Dimebag's playing style began, a style I've been trying to emulate for years through dedicated guitar playing. Even though I didn't experience Pantera's peak, winning this award would be a unique way to get even closer to the master. Having an instrument with the same characteristics that Dimebag used, and personalized with this album that changed my life in music, would be surreal. It would certainly be the best way to start the year focused on studying music.
