Ozzy talks about his sex addiction: "It's the worst addiction."

Read the statement.

After his brief separation from Sharon Osbourne last year, Ozzy Osbourne claimed that marital problems were caused by a sex addiction. Ozzy had a four-year affair with his hairdresser, Michelle Pugh. Now, the vocalist has spoken for the first time about the addiction, explaining in more detail the circumstances of the separation:

“She was a hairdresser who came to my house. I honestly don't know how it started, but when it became frequent I thought, 'If I stop, she'll talk to the press.' Giving in to temptation is like putting your head in the lion's mouth, and once it closes, no matter what you do, it will go wrong.”

Speaking about when the affair was revealed by the press, Ozzy said: “My first wife divorced me because I was cheating. It’s by far the worst addiction I have. When I drank or used drugs I affected myself physically, but with sex addiction I affect everyone. It made me realize what an idiot I was being.”

I sat there and thought, 'What on earth have I done?' I can't imagine my life without Sharon. She's my soulmate. I love her. I can honestly say I've never loved another woman. I have a pretty crazy way of showing it, but she's the love of my life.”

When asked how the marriage has been since then, Ozzy replied:

"To be honest, it was only recently that Sharon started being more normal with me. I damaged the relationship. But I promised I would continue therapy to treat my sex addiction. I don't want to be that person anymore. I'm doing my best to improve my relationship with Sharon and the whole family."

If you stop therapy, the little monster in your head opens an eye and that's terrifying. You don't know your own mind. I don't like that side of me. I hate it. I'm tired of being addicted. And it's not just sex. It could be drugs, alcohol, stamp collecting, anything. There's no middle ground for me and that's why it's so exhausting. And with the job I have… It's like sitting in a bakery if you're on a diet. I even do sex therapy via Skype when I'm on the road.”
