Ozzy says Led Zeppelin should never have been sued over "Stairway To Heaven"

Check the statement.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne spoke about the recent lawsuit won by Led Zeppelin regarding the accusation of plagiarism of the song "Spirit" by Taurus. Ozzy commented:

"It's crazy, really. It should never have gone to court. It's like saying any song with a guitar is a copy. It's not fair. There are only so many notes on a guitar, and it wasn't even that similar to 'Stairway To Heaven'. I was amazed it lasted so long, you know?

Led Zeppelin will pay $800,000 in Stairway To Heaven trial

. That group is phenomenal. Why would they need to steal something from someone? It's a waste of time. I'm really surprised it went to trial. It's madness."

If you listen to 'All Right Now' by Free and then you listen to 'Rock'n Me', it's exactly the same riff and nobody sued anyone. It's exactly the same thing.

They don't deserve it. It's like, do you honestly think they sat down and thought, 'Oh, let's steal this and then change it a little so it sells.' No, give me a break. The music was kind of similar, but it was just the chord progression.”
