Ozzy talks about the next Black Sabbath album

In an interview with Esquire magazine, vocalist Ozzy Osbourne said he hopes that Black Sabbath's founding drummer, Bill Ward, will be willing and fit to record a new album for the band .

Osbourne explains: “I hope Bill Ward is up to the task of doing this with us… One of the things I’m most proud of in my life is that Black Sabbath wasn’t conceived by some London or New York businessman. We were just four guys with a great idea that worked out.”

Last month, Black Sabbath announced they will embark on one last world tour following the release of an album, which is scheduled to begin recording in early 2015 and will be produced by Rick Rubin, who also worked with the band on "13".

Black Sabbath's latest album reached number 1 in sales in the United Kingdom and the United States, where it sold 155,000 copies in its first week, marking the first time Black Sabbath topped the US sales charts. In the UK, the last time the band reached the top spot on the official charts was with Paranoid, 42 years ago.

The reasons for Bill Ward's exclusion from the Black Sabbath reunion have not been fully clarified; Ward argues that he was not offered a fair contract . Ozzy, for his part, has said in an interview that the drummer was not fit for the job.
