Ozzy responds to Ward's comments

Vocalist says Ward is overweight

Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne has responded to comments made last week by drummer Bill Ward that his absence from the album "13" was solely due to an unfair contract.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Osbourne said he didn't know exactly what happened, but that Ward wasn't fit to play: “He's incredibly overweight. A drummer needs to be in shape. He'd already had two heart attacks and I didn't want to be responsible for his life.”

Despite this, Ozzy says the band's doors remain open to the drummer and commented that "without him, it's not the same."

Last week, Ward had said that he is perfectly capable of playing in Black Sabbath. The drummer said he would play a show with the band, but only if it was a full show.

Black Sabbath will be coming to Brazil in October, playing in Porto Alegre on the 9th, São Paulo on the 11th, and Rio de Janeiro on the 13th. Tickets for the São Paulo show are already sold out. Tickets can be purchased through the Tickets for Fun .
