Today, June 2nd, spearheaded by major record labels, is designated as Black Out Tuesday , a day that aims to pause work and services in the music industry to support the Black community.

And it wasn't just record labels that embraced the movement; big names in rock and metal, such as Ozzy Osbourne, The Who, Papa Roach, Lzzy Hale , and Foo Fighters, also took to social media to show their support for the cause.

The symbol of the movement, a black image that should be accompanied by information to contribute to the intention of Black Out Tuesday, was posted by several artists, see below:

“Artists, creators, and music industry moguls. Tuesday, we stand together as an act of solidarity and support for the Black community and all those fighting for equal human rights,” Lzzy Hale wrote in the caption.

“The Foo Fighters are observing Black Out Tuesday to stand with the Black community and our colleagues, artists, employees, fans, and leaders fighting against injustice and racism. Text FLOYD to 55156 to sign the petition to get justice for George Floyd,” wrote the Foo Fighters, who also added links to NGOs and other petitions to support the Black community.

#BlackOutTuesday: Wikimetal will dedicate today (June 2nd) to posting mostly content related to the movement that is sweeping the music world against racism.
