Ozzy Osbourne has confirmed that he will only be doing "small snippets and parts" at Black Sabbath 's farewell show , which will take place on July 5th at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham.
The show, called Back To The Beginning , will feature several other renowned bands such as Metallica , Slayer , Lamb Of God , Mastodon , Pantera , Anthrax , among other artists.
Ozzy said on his SiriusXM , Ozzy Speaks, that he doesn't plan a set with Black Sabbath, but that he will do "little bits and pieces" with the band and that he's "doing what he can, where he feels comfortable" (via Blabbermouth ).
The vocalist, during his own program, reflected on his condition and said that "despite my complaints, I'm still alive." He also pointed out that there are "people who haven't done even half of what I've done and haven't managed to get there."
The Prince of Darkness is quite excited about the return, according to his wife Sharon Osbourne, The Sun magazine : "Ozzy is very happy to be back and very emotional about it." Speaking about her husband's condition, she added that his illness has affected his legs, but that his voice is "as good as ever."
Sharon added, while speaking to BBC News , according to Blabbermouth , that “he’s doing well. He’s quite excited about being back with the guys and all his friends. It’s exciting for everyone.”
The last performance of the original Black Sabbath lineup was in 2005, and since then the band has played together in a few reunions, but never with all the original members.
