Ozzy Osbourne made his first foray into the world of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in January of this year by releasing a collection titled Cryptobatz containing 9,666 bat artworks . Called CryptoBatz , the collection was released on January 20th, with bat designs created in reference to the incident in which the artist bit the head off a bat during a show in the 1980s.

In announcing the collection, Ozzy explained that he decided to create his own collection after Sharon refused to buy an NFT from Bored Ape Yacht Club , a popular series of digital paintings of irreverent monkeys that has grossed over $1 billion in sales. “Cryptobatz is a very crazy project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic moments on stage and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history,” he said in a statement (via Ultimate Classic Rock ).

Now, on February 20th, Ozzy released a new series of NFTs called MutantBatz . According to a statement from the Prince of Darkness, the NFT now offers a unique feature that gives the bat the power to "bite" another NFT.

NFTs are capable of biting tokens from five partner projects: Bored Ape Yacht Club, CrypToadz by Gremplin, SupDucks, Alien Frens , and CyberKongz . According to an explanatory video released by Ozzy, to create a MutantBatz , the user must have a CryptoBat and an eligible victim in the same wallet. Each CryptoBat can only bite once, and each NFT victim can only be bitten once. See the video below.

Sutter Systems is still planning a third wave of Ozzy Osbourne's NFT project in the form of a worldwide treasure hunt called AncientBatz . Unlike the CryptoBatz which can only bite once, an AncientBatz will be able to bite up to 99 times before its power is depleted. Details of this other project will be revealed throughout the year on the CryptoBatz.com .
