The stuffed bat is celebrating its 37th anniversary since the incident with Ozzy and the animal
Ozzy Osbourne released a plush bat to mark the anniversary of the incident in which he bit the head off a bat.
On January 20, 1982, Ozzy bit the head off a live bat during a concert in Iowa. He later claimed he thought it was a toy thrown by members of the audience.
“Today marks the 37th anniversary of the day I bit the head off a bat,” Ozzy tweeted. “Celebrate with this commemorative plush toy with a detachable head.”
In 2008, Ozzy spoke definitively about the experience. “He must have been scared by the lights or something, because he just stood there and I thought it was a toy,” he said. “I put it in my mouth. Then the wings started flapping and I was in shock. I tried to pull it out too quickly and the head came off. It was crunchy and warm… kind of like McDonald's.”
