Ozzy talks about his battle for sobriety
In an interview with the website Goldmine, the Black Sabbath spoke about what it's like to face sobriety. Check out his statement:
“I’m approaching my third year of sobriety, and I just got back from a meeting actually. I’ve reached a pretty strange stage. I’m not happy sober but I don’t want to get drunk. Someone told me that the third year is just like that.”
Nicko says Bruce Dickinson's battle with cancer helped him stay sober
Asked if he had any regrets, the vocalist said: “No, because this was my destiny. I’m lucky enough to see the mistakes of my life and do something about them.”
To be honest, sometimes I think, 'What the hell was wrong with me when I thought a good night meant getting drunk and high on cocaine? You're sitting in a hotel room, crazy, and the sun is rising and you have to do a show that day. It's terrifying. I have absolutely no desire to do that. When we discovered cocaine, it was the beginning of the end… But we came back with a number 1 album and we're doing a farewell tour.'
Ozzy also commented on Sabbath's final tour: “I want you to know one thing: Don't think, 'Oh, these guys are going to come back, I'll see them next time.' No. This is the end of Sabbath. It's really the end.”
