The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has chosen Ozzy Osbourne for the second time. This time, he was selected for his solo career, and he emphasized that he is more than honored.

In a recent interview with Billboard , the singer reflected: “With each new musical endeavor, there’s always a certain surprise when you see the fans embrace it, because nobody wants to make a record and see it flop.” He added, “I feel like I was invited to a party in 1980 and it hasn’t stopped. Not bad for a guy who was fired from his last band.”

However, the biggest expectation is the possibility of Ozzy performing at the ceremony in October. The musician is currently away from the stage due to health problems, including Parkinson's disease.

The long history of Ozzy Osbourne and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

This wasn't the first time Ozzy's name had been on the list of nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This time the musician seemed very honored, but it wasn't always that way. In 1999, when Black Sabbath was on the list of nominees, he tried to remove the band, arguing that the award was meaningless. He even wrote an open letter to the institution: “Just take our name off the list. Save the ink. Forget about us. The nomination is meaningless because it's not voted on by the fans. It's voted on by the supposed elite of the industry and the media, who have never bought an album or a concert ticket in their lives, so their vote is irrelevant to me. Let's be honest, Black Sabbath was never a media darling.”

However, in 2006, when the band was selected, the musician accepted the nomination along with his bandmates. Later, in 2021, Randy Rhoads and expressed his satisfaction. Check out this year's selected band below.
