Last Friday, the 9th, Ozzy Osbourne released his new album, Patient Number 9 , which featured Taylor Hawkins on some drum tracks (although the musician is not credited in the title of any of the tracks).
In an interview with Kerrang!, Ozzy surprised everyone by saying that he had "never heard of" Hawkins before the late drummer's participation on his album, and demonstrated that he hadn't even heard the musician's work with the Foo Fighters .
“To be perfectly honest, I’d never heard of him before he played on my album. But he must be good to play in Dave Grohl ,” Osbourne stated.
"When I met him and from what I saw of him, he was a really nice guy, one who will have a lasting legacy. I imagine everyone in the band was devastated when he passed away."
In addition to playing drums on Ozzy Osbourne's album, Taylor Hawkins also provided an unusual collaboration for the single "Degradation Rules," which, according to Osbourne, is a track about masturbation.
“There’s a line in the song that says ‘Red Tube is awesome!’ It’s an ode to the free porn site. And guess who suggested that? Taylor Hawkins, the drummer who recently passed away,” Ozzy explains.
Hawkins was found dead in a hotel in Colombia, where the Foo Fighters were on tour, in the early hours of March 25th of this year. Recently, the band organized a huge event in London in tribute to the drummer , which will be repeated on September 27th in Los Angeles.
