Dee Snider even considered retiring , but couldn't go through with the plan and will release Leave A Scar , his fifth solo album, on July 30th. In a recent interview, the artist reflected on the "fountain of youth" for continuing to perform, a rule that seems to apply to Ozzy Osbourne .
“I discovered the fountain of youth – it’s to keep going stronger and more intensely as you get older. It’s inspiring,” he told The Jasta Show ( via Ultimate Guitar ). “If you’re an older metal fan, don’t get lighter with age, be more intense and be happier with age.”
In Snider's view, this way of approaching the passing of years keeps rock stars alive and well. "That's what keeps Ozzy alive, I think. That and the defibrillator that's on the tour bus, which you've probably heard of," he continued.
According to Snider, Ozzy's wife and manager also played a part in the Prince of Darkness's ability to keep going, especially with concert commitments. "You should know that they used to carry a defibrillator on the tour bus because Sharon wouldn't let [Ozzy] miss a show," the vocalist explained. "If Ozzy had a heart attack, you know Sharon would say, 'Space!', shock him to bring him back to life and throw him on stage."
