A question about which species of Amazonian fauna was named after Ozzy Osbourne caused a contestant to lose the R$ 200,000 prize on Show do Milhão, a program broadcast on SBT.
The player, identified as Luis, was faced with the following question: “Which species of Amazonian fauna was named in honor of the singer Ozzy Osbourne?”. Among the alternatives presented were a frog, a snake, a spider, and a bat [via ADTV].
With the aids unavailable, the contestant was visibly insecure and followed the logic that most heavy metal fans would probably follow: choosing the "bat" option, due to the infamous 1982 show in which the Prince of Darkness bit the animal, thrown onto the stage by a fan. Ozzy thought it was a rubber bat, making the scene one of the most iconic moments in metal history.
Despite the obvious historical connection, the choice of option was a trick question, with the correct answer being a frog. Because of the mistake, Luis left the competition, taking home the R$ 50,000 prize.

Discovered in a region between the states of Amazonas and Pará, the animal in question is the bat frog (Dendropsophus ozzyi). The reason for the tribute is due to the high-pitched call emitted by the amphibian which, according to researchers, resembles the sound produced by bats.
