Ozzy Osbourne announced that he will perform a medley of songs at the halftime show of the NFL (American football league) season opener between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills next Thursday, the 8th.
The game will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, one day before the release of his new studio album, Patient Number 9 .
The news of Ozzy's performance comes a month after he joined his Black Sabbath , guitarist Tony Iommi , to play the classic "Paranoid" at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. The performance marked Ozzy's return to the stage in about four years.
The singer's last live performance was on December 31, 2018, when he presented the No More Tours 2 at The Forum in Inglewood, the same city where he will perform next week.
Moving to the United Kingdom
Currently, Ozzy Osbourne is leaving his residence in Los Angeles to move to Buckinghamshire, England.
In the same interview with The Guardian , he and his wife Sharon denied rumors that the move was related to Ozzy's health. According to them, the decision to return to the United Kingdom is more a matter of security, due to the violence in the United States.
“Everything is ridiculous there. I’m tired of seeing people being murdered every day. Only God knows how many people have read a gunshot in school massacres. And then that shooting happened at a concert in Las Vegas… It’s crazy,” said the singer.
Ozzy Osbourne's health
Osbourne underwent surgery on June 13th which, according to Sharon , his wife and manager, would "determine the rest of his life ." Days after the surgery, Ozzy took to social media to let fans know he was doing well and recovering.
“It’s great, it’s great,” Osbourne said about his health. “I like seeing people, you know. That’s been a really hard thing for me these last three years and with this surgery. But I’ll get there. It’s a very slow climb, you know?”
According to Loudwire , the surgery in question involved the removal and realignment of pins that Osbourne has in his neck and back after suffering a fall in 2019. In an interview with Classic Rock , the musician had already mentioned that he would undergo neck surgery because he was unable to "walk properly."
