Ozzy Osbourne was born in 1948 into a working-class family in Birmingham, England. Leaving school at 15, Ozzy held various part-time jobs before meeting Geezer Butler , Tony Iommi , and Bill Ward and forming Black Sabbath .

Ozzy began his solo career after being fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to drug abuse. The first lineup of his band included drummer Lee Kerslake , bassist Bob Daisley , keyboardist Don Airey , and guitarist Randy Rhoads . In 1980, the band released their debut album, Blizzard of Ozz , a major commercial success. The album featured classic tracks such as "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley".

In 1981, the band released another hit, Diary Of A Madman , the second and final album with Rhoads, who would die in a plane crash during the album's tour. After Rhoads' death, the band reformed with Brad Gillis on guitar, Rudy Sarzo on bass, and Tommy Aldridge on drums. In 1982, Osbourne released a live album, Speak Of The Devil . Gillis was quickly replaced by Jake E. Lee 1983 album, Bark At The Moon 1986 album , The Ultimate Sin

Osbourne would change guitarists once more, with Zakk Wylde in '88. Wylde was Rhoads' replacement and would stay the longest, playing on the next 8 albums. In '91, Osbourne released his biggest commercial success since Blizzard of Ozz , No More Tears . Besides the title track, the album also featured the classic "Mama, I'm Coming Home".

Since then, Osbourne has released six more albums, the latest being Ordinary Man In his solo career, Osbourne has sold over 55 million albums worldwide. The vocalist has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame .
