Compiling their recent list of the 100 best heavy metal albums of all time, Rolling Stone magazine asked Ozzy Osbourne to list his ten favorite albums in the genre. The magazine asked Lars Ulrich and Rob Halford .

Check out Ozzy's list below:

AC/DC, 'Highway to Hell' (1979) – “I love Brian Johnson, but for me, my great friend, the late Bon Scott, was the best vocalist AC/DC ever had. This album was like an addiction for me.”

Alice in Chains, 'Facelift' (1990) – “Another wonderful debut album. “Man in the Box” is a classic. Layne Staley was an amazing guy. It’s a shame he couldn’t overcome his demons.”

Guns N' Roses, 'Appetite for Destruction' (1987) – “One of the best debut albums of all time. There isn't a single weak song on this album. I never get tired of it.”

Judas Priest, 'British Steel' (1980) – “What can I say, the guys from Judas Priest are not only my classmates from Birmingham but one of the best metal bands of all time. This album had “Living After Midnight”, “Breaking The Law” and “Metal Gods”. British Steel is a classic that survives the passage of time.”

Led Zeppelin, 'Led Zeppelin IV' (1971) – “I’ve always been a big fan of Led Zeppelin. All their albums are classics, but this one is my favorite.”

Megadeth, 'Rust in Peace' (1990) – “I never realized how good this band is until I heard this album.”

Metallica, 'Master of Puppets' (1986) – “I took Metallica on tour with me after they released Master Of Puppets. The album was a milestone in their career and in Heavy Metal.”

Motörhead, 'Ace of Spades' (1980) – “The album that put Motörhead on top. The title track “Ace Of Spades” is Motörhead's “Paranoid”. It's one of the greatest anthems of Metal and for me a band only achieves its goals when it creates its own anthem. This is theirs.”

Pantera, 'Cowboys From Hell' (1990) – “These guys were simply the biggest animals I've ever toured with. Dimebag's guitar playing just shines on this album. It should be in any Metal fan's collection.”

Rob Zombie, 'Hellbilly Deluxe' (1999) – “Rob Zombie is a guy I've toured with a lot. He's a true artist and Hellbilly Deluxe is his best in my opinion.”
