Ozzy Osbourne has had to cancel another event due to his health. The singer was scheduled to participate in the Mad Monster Party convention, from July 12th to 14th, at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa in Westgate, Glendale, Arizona.
As reported on Blabbermouth on Tuesday, June 25th, Ozzy's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne , shared a video message in which she says:
"Unfortunately, the Osbourne family has to cancel our participation in the Mad Monster Party in Phoenix because Ozzy is unable to travel at the moment. However, Jack , Ozzy and Sharon's son, will be there representing the Osbournes."
“Everyone who purchased the Osbourne package will, of course, receive full refunds. We would like to thank you all for your continued support. It means so much to him, you have no idea. And all I can do is apologize for not being there and I sincerely apologize to the people we disappointed.”
"May God bless you all. Thank you very much."
Sharon also confirmed that Jack will be bringing pre-signed items to sell at the event for those who wish to obtain something signed by Ozzy.
The Prince of Darkness on returning to perform
In November 2023, during an interview with Rolling Stone UK , Ozzy expressed his thoughts on the possibility of returning to live performances. He shared that he is gradually accepting his situation and that he does not intend to return to the stage in a limited way or seeking sympathy.
At the same time, the artist expresses frustration with some press reports, which he considers exaggerated. He criticizes articles that announce that he is "fighting his last battle" or that he has already sung "Paranoid" for the last time.
He also mentioned that, unlike Phil Collins, who faces similar problems and performs in a wheelchair, he doesn't feel capable of doing the same.
Ozzy mentions that he doesn't think too much about his Parkinson's condition, which he was officially diagnosed with in 2003. But he would still like to have the chance to say goodbye to his fans.
