Ozzfest sparks speculation of a return with a post on social media

Publications emerge after Sharon Osbourne reveals conversations with the production company Live Nation

The official Ozzfest social media accounts have posted cryptic photos suggesting the possible return of the iconic heavy metal and rock festival in 2027.

The first post asked followers if the event could return next year. The second post asked: "What's your opinion on a possible return of OzzFest?".

The two posts Sharon Osbourne , Ozzy Osbourne 's widow and co-founder of Ozzfest, commented that she had been in talks with Live Nation about the possibility of reviving the festival.

In an interview with Billboard , Sharon stated that Ozzfest could return as early as 2027, with an updated concept, but maintaining the original spirit of giving a stage to new bands alongside big names in the scene.

“I’ve been talking to Live Nation recently about bringing [Ozzfest] back. It was something Ozzy did with a lot of passion, giving young talent a stage to perform for big people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It’s been replicated, but never with the same spirit as ours, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like a summer camp for kids,” said the businesswoman.

Fans on social media reacted enthusiastically to the suggestion of a return, despite there being no official announcement. The last edition took place in Inglewood, California, on New Year's Eve 2018, with performances by  Rob Zombie , Marilyn Manson , DevilDriver , and Ozzy.
