Overkill vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that guitarist Dave Linsk in the American tour starting in March due to “personal issues.”
As a replacement for Linsk, the band will welcome Phil Demmel , formerly of Machine Head and currently with Vio-lence , who already filled in for him at a 2021 show in New Jersey ( Blabbermouth ).
According to Blabbermouth , vocalist Bobby Ellsworth reportedly commented: “We already called Phil once when we had problems. We’re prepared. We’re ready. It’s not about the strength of an individual, but about the strength of the collective. We discovered that when Phil showed up.”
“It’s really cool to be able to do whatever you want, whether you’re in the audience or performing. Let’s get back to normal. Let’s do what we do best. Let’s have some fun,” he concluded.
Overkill has recently been working on their new album, which they plan to release sometime in 2022.
