The thrashers from Onslaught are in the studio recording their next album

Onslaught guitarist Nige Rockett spoke with Metal Crypt about the band's future work.

The first piece of news is the new members: James Perry on drums and Wayne Dorman on guitar. “James has been waiting to join the band for years. He’s an old friend and helped us on the 2013 South American tour,” said Rockett. “As for Wayne, we found him through videos on YouTube. I really like his guitar style and he’s also a fantastic vocalist. He helps with backing vocals and songwriting.”

Nige also stated that “Onslaught is a very happy and calm place to be right now. It seems like there are no limits to where we can go with this formation.”

Rockett also spoke about the new material. “We’ve already played one of the songs live a few times,” he said. “It’s called ‘A Perfect Way To Die’ and the response has been wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for more from our fans. It’s always a concern when you play a song for the first time. But everyone who’s heard it already knows it like an old classic.”

“My bandmates always raise the bar from album to album. I don’t see the point in making a record that isn’t better than its predecessor,” the guitarist added
