Omnium Gatherum's last work was released in 2016

Finnish band Omnium Gatherum will release their new album, titled The Burning Cold , on August 31st via Century Media.

Markus Vanhala , guitarist and main songwriter of the band, spoke about the album:

"Sometimes you can be proud of something you've accomplished, and I could say that The Burning Cold is a special chapter for me. I haven't felt this excited for a new album of mine in years!"

I've been extremely busy with all the touring over the last few years and I really don't know when or where I got these songs. They somehow wrote themselves. We have some good songs and "The Burning Cold" has a really honest feel. It's a new rebirth of Omnium Gatherum!

Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen spoke about the lyrics: “There are two major lyrical concepts on the new album. First, it touches on the great human tragedies and fortunes that surround us – tragedies like war and the darkness that follows […] Secondly, the lyrics speak loudly about the human emotional condition. How do we love? Why do we hate? Why is it easier to let go of some things than others? Why does death terrify us, and if it happens, why do people act as if it doesn't exist? This album is the culmination of all the hard work we, as a group, have been doing for a long time. The music comes alive and reaches new perspectives. Yet it's still really melodic death metal. Sharp, polished, brutal.”

"The Burning Cold" was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö and produced by Teemu Aalto.
