Olivia Rodrigo revealed that her mother decided to attend Korn 's show during Lollapalooza Chicago 2025 , even though her daughter was performing at the same time.
During her appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Olivia said that her mother has always loved metal bands. Therefore, when she had to choose between the two concerts, she decided to see Korn. “My mom likes so many crazy metal bands, actually, you’d never guess just by looking at her. But I headlined Lollapalooza last year, which was amazing and a dream of mine. But they usually have the headliners performing at the same time,” she said [via Louder].
Olivia explained that the festival organizers scheduled the two shows to take place simultaneously on different stages. The choice seemed to make sense, since the audiences for the two acts would be quite different.
“On that particular day, Korn and I were headlining at the same time, on opposite stages. And everyone was like, 'Oh, how perfect.' You know, Olivia's fans get to see Olivia, Korn's fans get to see Korn. You know, there's not much audience overlap, but there was one overlap, and that was my mom. My mom missed my show to go see Korn,” the artist said
The singer stated that she wasn't bothered by the situation and said she was happy that her mother enjoyed the performance by the veteran nu metal band.
