Oliver Sykes, lead singer of Bring Me The Horizon, became a trending topic on social media after a video showed the singer sustaining a scream for about 21 seconds during a performance last Friday, the 16th, in Chicago, United States.
The performance of the song "Kingslayer" was compared to Chester Bennington in "Given Up," a track by Linkin Park released on the 2007 album Minutes To Midnight. Chester Bennington's section became known among fans for maintaining an aggressive vocal for approximately 17 consecutive seconds.
Following the reaction, Oliver Sykes commented on the video and expressed respect for the former Linkin Park vocalist. "But I'll never be as good as Chester," the singer stated. Sykes has never hidden his admiration for Chester Bennington and Linkin Park. The vocalist has cited the band several times as one of Bring Me The Horizon's biggest influences.
