Bring Me The Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes spoke about what it's like to live in Brazil in an interview given to the social media of 89 FM A Rádio Rock ( via Blabbermouth ).

Sykes has been married to Brazilian model Alissa Salls In 2021, he bought a house in the country and even obtained a CPF (Brazilian taxpayer identification number) in his name . And in 2023, he received the National Migration Registry

According to him, the Brazilian way of life is very different from England, his native country, and the pace of things is slower here. Oli also praised the climate, the cuisine, and the people.

“The climate, the people, the food. The way of life is very different from England, but it's very good for me. I think mentally I needed to slow down a bit, and it's very difficult to do that there, while here, everything is a bit slower. People are much more relaxed,” she commented.

The vocalist also revealed that he had never imagined that his moments of disconnection when not with his band would be here, but that during the COVID-19 lockdown, he felt at peace and currently enjoys being in the country very much.

“I feel like I need to have moments of disconnection and escape from who I am in the band and things like that. And I never thought it would be in Brazil, but we kind of got stuck here in lockdown, and I realized how at peace I feel when I'm here, and I just really enjoy it,” he concluded.
