On May 25th, we published a news item Wikimetal about the poll Kiko Loureiro opened on his Instagram stories regarding the possibility of Juninho Groovador replacing David Ellefson in Megadeth.
Following the announcement of the bassist's departure from Dave Mustaine , requests for Juninho as his replacement flooded social media, prompting Kiko's poll. With little time left before the final vote, the vast majority of the guitarist's followers wanted Groovador in the position, and we reported on this episode on the website.
The response to our post was overwhelming, with many fans supporting the poll results. We also received comments suggesting other bassists for the position. The discussion was open, and in the comments on social media, Wikimetal readers discussed the possibilities.
Because of this, some people took advantage of the moment to disagree with the idea of Juninho joining Megadeth, but one comment stood out for its harsh criticism of Juninho.
We regret that our news has generated this situation with our readers and Juninho Groovador. We have removed the comment and, as of now, we have seen on Instagram that the person responsible for the comment has deleted their profile.
Unfortunately, throughout Wikimetal's 10-year history, we have witnessed violent demonstrations like these, which we vehemently condemn. The site was created by friends passionate about music with the intention of spreading the love for rock and heavy metal. We repudiate any and all violence.
