The Norwegian band Nergard recently paused recording their third album to pay tribute to English musician Tony Mills , who died of cancer last September, one year after his death.
"I wanted to pay tribute to my friend Tony, who was a great inspiration to me and essential in the process of my band Nergard during the early years," said the band's leader, Andreas Nergård .
Andreas also commented on how much he misses Tony: “I miss his unique songwriting, his incredible voice and warm personality. I wanted to celebrate his great career by singing the song 'Under Fire' from the album Shy , which is very much in line with our band, and I'm proud of the version we created.”
In addition to the project being a beautiful tribute to Tony Mills, Andreas created a campaign to raise funds and donate to childhood cancer research.
"All profits will go to the childhood cancer cause of the project created by Tony. He told me that no child should suffer like he did, and I wholeheartedly support him in this cause," the singer concluded.
