The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced the nominees for the 2022 cycle, including Judas Priest, Rage Against the Machine, New York Dolls, Pat Benatar, MC5 and more.
A total of 17 names were nominated – see the full list below – and some are on the list for the first time, such as Eminem, Beck, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon , and A Tribe Called Quest.
Rage Against the Machine, along with New York Dolls, Kate Bush, DEVO, and Fela Kuti , are being nominated for the second time. MC5, who have been eligible since 1991, and Judas Priest, since 1999, appear on the list again this year.
Voting this year will be open to fans until April 29th on the official Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website . The five artists with the most votes will go into the Hall of Fame committee's voting pool.
Last year, the Hall of Fame inducted Foo Fighters, The Go-Go's, Jay-Z, Carole King, Todd Rundgren, and Tina Turner . Meanwhile, Randy Rhoads, LL Cool J , and Billy Preston were honored with awards for excellence and influence.
