Noel Gallagher revealed to BBC Radio Manchester last Tuesday, the 17th, that he would "never say never" to an Oasis , however, "it would need an extraordinary set of circumstances, not to say that they would never happen".
The news caught everyone by surprise, since the musician, unlike his brother Liam Gallagher , had always been against the band reuniting. This led to them exchanging veiled insults since their split in 2009, maintaining an unpleasant relationship.
In an interview with Pub Talk in October, Noel explained that he wasn't willing to reunite with the British group: “Would you go on holiday with your ex-wife? As funny as it sounds, Oasis sells as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We're as popular now in people's eyes as we ever were. And I'm happy with that. If we got back together, there would be a circus – and it's pointless. Just leave it as it is. I'm happy. Liam is doing his own thing. He's still selling Knebworth. It's like, man, good luck to you, you know what I mean?” (transcription via Rolling Stone ).
Furthermore, another time Noel teased his brother was when he said that he wasn't a real person, but a hologram, and therefore completely replaceable .
Liam, on the other hand, has always been in favor of an Oasis reunion, even saying that "they should never have broken up" .
On Wednesday afternoon, the 18th, however, Liam Gallagher posted on Twitter saying that his brother called him to apologize. “Just spoke to my brother on the phone begging for forgiveness. May he be blessed. He wants to meet up… what do you think, do I meet him or tell him to go to hell?”. All that remains now is to wait for the next chapters of this story.
