During an appearance on The Mistress Carrie , renowned guitarist Nita Strauss gave more details about her upcoming solo album and discussed the differences between the new work and her debut album, Controlled Chaos (2018).
According to Nita, the next album will include some vocals on certain tracks, such as "Dead Inside," which features David Draiman . "It's going to be half and half – half vocals and half instrumental," said the guitarist. "I felt, and my record label agreed, that it's still important to maintain my identity as a guitarist and not stray too far from the script to the point of only having guest appearances."
Strauss states that the instrumental compositions on the new album are "better than anything" she did on the previous album and more "well thought out" and constructed. She also spoke a little about what to expect from the collaborations on the album.
“I called some of my favorite singers. I have three incredible and powerful female vocalists on this album so far. And there are still a few things to be determined. We should release it next spring,” he concluded.
Recently, Nita Strauss became the first solo female artist to enter the Top 10 of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart as a lead artist since the chart was created almost 26 years ago, with the single "Dead Inside," which reached the tenth position.
