Nita Strauss has revealed details of what to expect from her upcoming solo album, her second. The album will be released by Sumerian Records sometime in 2023.

In an interview with Guitar World , Demi Lovato 's current guitarist commented on the project and her artistic evolution over time: “I’m a very emotional musician and person, and I write about what I’m feeling and what’s happening in my life. Making this album, and especially writing a lot during 2020 when everything was shut down and uncertain, brought a lot of emotion to my songwriting.”

“I’ve grown a lot as an artist and songwriter since my debut solo album, Controlled Chaos , released in 2018, and I’m excited to showcase a higher level of playing and more depth and maturity in these new songs. I’ve improved a lot as a musician, my technique has improved over the last four years, and I’ve become more comfortable with my own style, so I feel like I’ve become a guitarist in my own right.”

In December 2021, the Alice Cooper guitarist had already hinted that the new album would surprise fans . It will consist of six instrumental tracks and six with vocals, in addition to collaborations with three "powerful female vocalists ." Nita's instrumental essence can be observed in " Summer Storm ."

The Wolf You Feed ,” featuring Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy , had its music video released last October. The song's lyrics are inspired by a Native American legend in which a grandfather tells his grandson about life through an analogy of two wolves.

“A fight is going on inside me. It’s a terrible fight, and it’s between two wolves. One is evil – it is anger, envy, sadness, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good – it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside everyone else, too.” The grandson thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The grandfather simply replied, “The one you feed,” Strauss recounted.

Dead Inside ,” featuring David Draiman of Disturbed , however, was Nita's first song to feature another vocalist, and she was the Billboard 's rock chart .

Nita Strauss recently underwent meniscus surgery . The guitarist is doing well, but will be taking a month off from performing.
