Nita Strauss started playing with Alice Cooper in 2014.
Elliott Fullam of Little Punk People interviewed Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss.
Asked what the most valuable thing she learned from Alice Cooper was, Nita replied, “I think the most valuable thing is how he treats people. Playing with Alice is an incredible experience because he loves what he does. He just turned 70, and to see someone that age… I’m 31, and he outshines me every night. It’s amazing! And the way he treats people, the way he treats his fans, the way he treats everyone who approaches him on the street… He does meet-and-greets… I see other bands do meet-and-greets and treat people like, ‘Photo, okay. Next, you’re done.’ Alice sits and talks to people for five or 10 minutes. Sometimes we’re waiting for him on the bus for an hour or two because he stays there and spends time with people and appreciates it, and I think that’s really valuable.”
Nita started playing with Alice Cooper in 2014, but before that she was a member of The Iron Maidens (an all-female Iron Maiden tribute band), Femme Fatale, and LA Kiss.
In January of this year, Nita became the first female endorser for Ibanez to have her own guitar model, the Ibanez Jiva, launched at NAMM, a music trade show that takes place in California.
