In an interview with Louder , Nita Strauss Demi Lovato 's band came about .
In July, the guitarist Alice Cooper 's band after 8 years to pursue new projects. A few days later, Strauss debuted alongside Lovato during a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . The switch sparked much curiosity, and now Nita has explained how it all happened:

Essentially, [the message] said what we all know now: Demi is a huge rock and metal fan. And she wants to go back to her roots and put together an all-female rock band. She’s one of the biggest celebrities in the world and she wants to take a step towards our genre and this style of music that we love so much.”
“When you receive that message, that someone wants to bring this kind of music to the forefront, how do you say 'no'? How do you refuse the opportunity to bring this kind of music to so many people? I was very excited to hear about it and I seized the opportunity,” she concludes.
According to Nita Strauss, these negotiations didn't happen overnight, as many fans seem to think. The guitarist claims to have received the invitation in May and immediately afterwards "asked for the blessing" of Alice Cooper and Sheryl before starting rehearsals with Lovato. "None of this happened quickly, people only found out all at once," she says.
