In July, Nita Strauss surprised some fans by announcing her departure from Alice Cooper . After 8 years working with the musician, it was revealed shortly after that the guitarist would be participating in Demi Lovato , who decided to invest in rock on her new album, Holy Fvck .
In a recent interview with Louder , Nita revealed how she received the invitation to join Lovato and clarified that her departure from Alice Cooper's band is not necessarily a farewell.
“It’s interesting that everyone is saying it’s a ‘farewell,’ but I don’t necessarily feel like I’ve left. I took a step back and gave up the upcoming tour, but I don’t think anyone has used the words ‘leaving’ or ‘going away’ except for people outside the band,” he comments.
“When I did my last shows with Alice, we had what he called a ‘hiatus dinner,’ where he said, ‘We wish you the best, we love you, you’re welcome back.’ They didn’t slam the door in my face and throw away the key, I’m just stepping away for a while.”
Nita Strauss also said that, depending on her and Alice Cooper's commitments next year, she may "have a chance to come back or not." To conclude the matter, she assured: "It definitely doesn't seem as definitive to me and the people in Alice's band as it's been portrayed to the world."
Demi Lovato's tour will include a stop in Brazil.
Currently, Nita Strauss is on tour with Demi Lovato , and Brazilian fans will have the opportunity to see the guitarist up close. The Holy Fvck will be in Brazil on August 30th and 31st in São Paulo, September 2nd in Belo Horizonte, and September 4th at Rock In Rio.
Speaking about the career changes for the first time, Nita Strauss said she saw the offer from Lovato's team as a chance to bring rock music to more people.
“When you receive a message like that, that someone wants to bring this kind of music to the forefront, how do you say 'no'? How do you refuse the opportunity to bring this kind of music to so many people? I was very excited to hear about it and I seized the opportunity,” she commented.
