Nirvana 's classic live album MTV Unplugged in New York will receive a 25th-anniversary commemorative vinyl edition. To celebrate the iconic performance, the new version will be released as two double vinyl records – a standard and a colored – featuring five recordings of the group's rehearsals that were previously only available on the DVD version.
Among the various rehearsals, the work will feature a different version of "The Man Who Sold the World," a David Bowie that Kurt Cobain and company performed in the show. In addition to this song, there will also be rehearsals of "Polly," "Pennyroyal Tea," "Come As You Are," and "Playeau" by the Meat Puppets.
The new release will also be available on all streaming platforms on the same date, November 1st. The re-release comes shortly after the record label made the videos from Live and Loud , recorded in 1993, available.
