The musician spent two years with Nirvana

Former Nirvana drummer Chad Channing revealed during an interview that he doesn't regret leaving the band before it became a success.

Channing joined the band in 1988 and participated in the initial recording of their debut album, Bleach (1989). He left the band two years later citing "creative differences," and Dave Grohl soon replaced him to accompany Nirvana on the final recording, tour, and promotion of the classic Nevermind ( 1991).

Asked if he had any regrets, Channing replied: “I don’t regret it because I always thought things ended for a reason. For example, I fit perfectly with the band at the beginning, but then they needed another piece to do other things.”

“Our musical differences were very big. We all remained friends and I remember the first time I saw Dave [Grohl]. It was really cool and everyone was friendly.” When talking about his relationship with Dave, he said: “I found that Dave is a really cool guy so it was great to have met him.”

“I don’t regret it. When I look back, I think, ‘Wow, I was a part of that.’ So I’m happy with that.”
