Nirvana and Alice in Chains are among the most listened-to artists of the decade on rock radio.

Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Metallica, and Offspring also appear on the list

Nielsen Music released a list of the most listened-to rock bands and songs of the decade on American radio, showing a top 10 full of grunge with Nirvana , Alice in Chains , Stone Temple Pilots , and Pearl Jam .

Leading the mainstream rock list is the hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from Nirvana 's Nevermind , released in 1991. In third, seventh, and tenth place, the band led by Kurt Cobain appears again with “Come As You Are”, “In Bloom”, and “Lithium”, respectively.

Alice in Chains comes in second with “Man In The Box” from 1990, while Stone Temple Pilots is in fourth with “Plush” from 1992. “Even Flow” (1991) by Pearl Jam, “Self Esteem” (1994) by The Offspring, “Enter Sandman” (1991) by Metallica and “Black Hole Sun” (1994) by Soundgarden are also in the top 10.

The alternative rock list includes Cold War Kids, AWOLNATION, Arctic Monkeys, Portugal. The Man, Milky Chance, Vance Joy, Imagine Dragons, Neighborhood, Muse, and Bastille , in descending order.

Forbes also released a report summarizing what happened in the last decade, releasing a list of the best-selling vinyl records. Abbey Road by The Beatles , the 40th anniversary of the LP.
