Nine Inch Nails released their new single “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” this Wednesday, October 3rd. The track is part of the official soundtrack for the film Tron: Ares , which hits theaters on October 10th. Despite having won numerous Oscars and Emmy Awards , this is the first time vocalist Trent Reznor and keyboardist Atticus Ross have composed an entire soundtrack for the film.

The official music video, directed by Maxime Quoilin , features close-ups of Reznor singing while his face is surrounded by several hands. The scene is a representation of the song's lyrics: "All these hands held me" [ via Blabbermouth ].
