This work concludes a trilogy that began with Not the Actual Events (2016) and Add Violence (2017).
During a recent interview with BBC , Trent Reznor, vocalist of Nine Inch Nails , revealed that the band will release a new EP before the end of June. In the conversation, he spoke about the group's performance at the Meltdown Festival in London on June 22nd.
Reznor promised that the work would be released before the show. "We're in the final stages of it now, so it should be out before the festival ," he said. "It's not coming out as we expected ," he added.
The still-untitled EP will conclude the trilogy that began with Not The Actual Events in 2016 and continued with the recent Add Violence (2017). “We started with a very rigid concept of what the three EPs would be, even without having written anything,” he explained. But everything changed when they began working on the third release and felt things were a little “too predictable,” according to the vocalist. “It felt forced, musically and conceptually. The reason we delayed the release a bit was really the conception of this EP, which demanded a little more from us.”
