Twenty years is a long time, but taking it one day at a time, Nikki Sixx, bassist for Mötley Crüe , has achieved a very important milestone. The musician is celebrating 20 years of sobriety and commemorated the achievement in a social media post.
“Some people will try to hurt you, steal your money, stab you in the back, bring you down, sabotage you, they won’t believe in you and they’ll start gossiping about you not being able to go a day without alcohol and drugs. But you know what you’re going to do? YOU’RE GOING TO STAY SOBER ONE DAY AT A TIME,” Sixx wrote in the caption of an Instagram post.
He went on to say: “You are a miracle, the one who breaks the chain of addiction (…) And when you find people who are suffering, help them, throw them a life jacket. Because we have to give ourselves to those who are suffering and hope that they will continue this [cycle of good deeds].”
