Nicko McBrain talks about Dickinson's health and Maiden's new album

New album is ready

Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain spoke about Bruce Dickinson's health, who recently underwent cancer treatment, and about Iron Maiden's upcoming album.

Dickinson had a tumor removed from his tongue and underwent radiation and chemotherapy sessions in recent months, according to a statement from the band. In the interview, McBrain said that Dickinson is doing very well: “Apparently, he’s doing great. Last week he went to the office… And he’s been going out to the pub, but he can’t taste the beer. But he says, ‘At least I know it’s Trooper!’”

The drummer also explained that the new Iron Maiden album is ready. According to him, the release had to be postponed precisely because of Dickinson's illness: “We made an album. It was ready to be released this year. It still is. But we were still going to get together to work on it a little more, but now we're waiting… We hope Bruce will be ready, in perfect condition, which we hope will be in the next few months. But there's no way to know when that will happen.”
