We've said here Iron Maiden 's show Nicko McBrain 's modesty prevents him from agreeing with us.

In an interview with Cosmo Music, the Maiden drummer refuted the claim that the band's performance is "the greatest in heavy metal," citing Rammstein.

“I wouldn’t say that. I think it’s the biggest production we’ve ever done. Look at a band like Rammstein: they’re outstanding with their pyrotechnics and the way they’ve changed their stages, the visual aspect… I think it’s fantastic.”

In the same conversation, the interviewer also questioned McBrain about the format of Iron Maiden's stages. The band hasn't been using screens in their performances, but rather backdrops that are hand-painted.

“We take pride in always putting on a great show on stage. Not just from a visual standpoint, in terms of lighting, but also the backstage. We're 'old school'. We maintain sets with artwork. They're all hand-painted. People say, 'why don't you use screens behind you?' Well, we want it to be like a theater.”
