Last Wednesday, the 7th, Nickelback officially announced their return by releasing the new single "San Quentin". This is the band's first release since the album Feed The Machine (2017) and comes with an extra dose of heaviness in their sound.
According to a press release, the inspiration for the song came after lead singer Chad Kroeger met the warden of a notorious maximum-security prison in California. San Quentin State Penitentiary, to which the song refers, is California's oldest prison and is known for having the longest death row for male inmates in the United States.
In the lyrics of "San Quentin," Kroeger speaks of chaotic and unrestrained nights that end with the narrator's imprisonment and a desperate plea to be released from the penitentiary in question.
Along with the new single, Nickelback also announced the arrival of their new album. The album is called Get Rollin' and is scheduled for release on November 18th via BMG .
