The ceremony will take place on January 24th

Nick Menza, the late drummer of Megadeth , will be inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History in 2018 alongside Bill Ward, Exodus, and many other metal greats.

The organization seeks to honor musicians and industry professionals who have been responsible for major changes and transformations in the world of Heavy Metal.

Upon announcing the news, Menza's former manager said: “Nick was the heart of Megadeth. He was a huge part of the band's image, energy and power, with a unique playing style. Nick Menza was an inspiration to Megadeth fans and drummers around the world.”

The other honorees of 2018 are: Lzzy Hale, Billy Sheehan, Carmine Appice, Anvil, Jordan Rudess, Riot, Metal Mike Chlasciak, Munsey Ricci (President of Skateboard Marketing agency), Sammy Ash (Coopers Director of Sam Ash Music), and Elliott Rubinson (Owner of Dean Guitars).

The ceremony will take place on January 24th at the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove in Anaheim, California.
