Drummer died while playing with his band
Former Megadeth Nick Menza suffered a sudden illness while playing with his band 0HM in California last night. Initial reports indicate that he suffered a massive heart attack during the third song and arrived at the hospital already deceased.
Nick Menza joined Megadeth to record the legendary 1990 album "Rust In Peace" and remained with the band for 9 years, participating in the band's entire classic era on the albums "Countdown To Extinction" (1992), "Youthanasia" (1994), "Hidden Treasures" (1995) and "Cryptic Writings" (1997), as well as the 1994 Black Sabbath tribute album "Nativity In Black".
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine posted a message on Twitter: “Tell me this isn’t true. I woke up at 4am to find out Nick Menza passed away on May 21st playing drums with Ohm at Baked Potato Studios. #nickmenzarip ”
