Newsted speaks in an interview

In an interview with Loudwire, bassist Jason Newsted spoke about Lemmy Kilmister's importance to metal, and how he intends to follow in his footsteps.

"Lemmy will live forever, no matter what – spiritually, legendarily, physically ." The bassist goes on to say that although Lemmy is immortal, he can't tour forever, saying that when the time comes, it will be his turn.

“I hope to take this on. It’s my journey, a personal thing. When the time comes, someone will need to fill this space and make loud, heavy, real music. No frills, just the sound itself.”

The bassist continues, speaking of his band, Newsted: “We’re going to dominate these people. When Motörhead decides to stop, our band will be ready to take over.”
