A new study has revealed the average age people are when they discover their favorite band.
The study was conducted by ThickPick , which assessed how mothers and fathers influence their children's musical tastes. To this end, 500 mothers and fathers were interviewed.
The results showed that the average age at which fans discover their favorite band is 13 years old. This usually occurs 6 months after they have been exposed to explicit music.
The study also concluded that there are 10 factors that are most important in determining a young person's musical taste. These are: Radio, movies, parents, friends, relatives, TV, concerts and festivals, social media, and finally, hobbies and interests.
Another conclusion from the study conducted by ThickPick is that 31% of parents disagree on what their children's musical tastes should be.
Finally, the research concludes that children who are taken to concerts by their parents are more likely to build stronger bonds with their moms and dads.
