Slipknot 's new album has its songwriting completely finished, and Corey Taylor is preparing to record the vocals for the successor to We Are Not Your Kind (2019), with a release date expected sometime in 2021.
In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound (via Blabbermouth ), the vocalist revealed some details about the new project. “It’s an expansion of where we were in We Are Not Your Kind . This band has always prided itself on expanding horizons and our musical horizons. It has a weight… It has a lot of different elements, man,” he said. “Let’s just say I’m very excited to record the vocals. I’ve already written all the lyrics. I’m starting to fine-tune everything.”
The artist also commented on the change of perspective while recording the album. “It’s the first time in a long time that I’m not talking from my point of view, I’m trying to look at it from other points of view as well and trying to tell different stories again,” he continued. “I’m kind of returning to that and the feeling is liberating. It’s very liberating, man. It’s going to be insane. There are some songs that people are going to be like… They’re mosh pit starters that are going to drive people crazy.”
